The festival begins with a James Beard 4-course gourmet luncheon on Friday, March 21. The weekend "Grand Tastings" feature renowned chefs, and more than 80 premium wines and champagnes and 50 restaurants will offer tastings.

Matthew Accarrino: Chef, SPQR born in the Midwest and raised on the East Coast, Accarrino moved to California in 2007. His culinary style draws inspiration from his Italian heritage, personal experiences and classical training with some of America's best chefs, coupled with his embrace of the bouty of opportunities that California ingredients present. With a strong belief in direct sourcing, the chef endeavors to play a role in the growing and development of many of his ingredients. The result is an intensely personal cuisine that is both technically polished and soulful, and has garnered praise from publications such as Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Saveur, San Francisco Chronicle, 7x7, and others. Under his direction, the restaurant was recognized with a Michelin star in the 2013 and 2014 guides. Accarrino has been nominated twice by the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for Best Chef: West, and was named People's Best Chef California in 2013 by Food & Wine.
Chris Anderson: CEO/Bremaster, Coachella Valley Brewing Company - Chris Anderson has worked in the food and beverage industry for 20 years. He began his management career during the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, running food services operations for thousands of workers in the cleanup effort in the Prince William Sound. Upon completing degrees in food services and business, Anderson began home brewing, cultivating a deeper interest in the craft of brewing ales and lagers. A certified beer judge who has earned more than 400 medals of his own, Anderson is now working toward a master-level title. Anderson has worked as a brewer at Midnight Sun Brewing Company in Anchorage and Broken Tooth Brewing Company, a large beer manufacturer, earning numerous awards for each establishment. In the years that follwed, Anderson returned to home brewing, and became deeply involved in local homebrew clubs. After moving to California with his family, he became a member of the Coachella Valley Homebrew Club, the springboard for a second club in the high desert called Homebrewers Guild. His focus has turned to locally sourced ingredients from the Coachella Valley.

Gale Gand: As the partner and founding Executive pastry chef of Tru, the one-star Michelin, four-star Mobil, five-diamond AAA, Relais & Chateaux Relais-Gourmand restaurant in Chicago with restaurateur Rich Melman, Gand was recognized in 2001 as Outstanding Pastry Chef of the Year by the James Beard Foundation and Bon Appetit magazine, and in 1994 as one of Food & Wine's Top Ten Best New Chefs.

CRAFT BEER SEMINARS AND TASTING
Babe's Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse: The longest standing craft brewery in the Coachella Valley, Babe's 2002, 2003, and 2009 award-winning beers have been local favorites since 2002. The establishment is best known for its Honey Blonde, Belgian Vanilla Blonde, and Blackfin Lager.
Coachella Valley Brewing Company: Coachella Valley Brewing's Master Brewer Chris Anderson got his start in various Alaska breweries. When the award-winning brewer came to the Coachella Valley, he, along with his crew, began brewing his recipes to beers such as Volstead IPL, Koschella, Sessions IPA and Desert Swarm.

La Quinta Brewing Co.: La QUinta Brewing Co. is the youngest of the Coachella Valley breweries. At only a few months old, its beers are already a town favorite. The brewer, previously from San Diego's Green Flash Brewery, is making a splash with his "Taste the Sunshine" flagship beers - One Eleven Pale Ale, Windy Point Wheat, and Indian Canyon IPA.
