Fourth annual global celebrations honouring one of Ireland’s greatest men are set to be the biggest yet

Dublin, Ireland: August 15th— GUINNESS® has today confirmed that Tinie Tempah is just one of the headline acts performing at the Arthur’s Day celebrations taking place around the world on 27th September 2012.

In addition to Tinie Tempah, performances from Example, Professor Green and Mika will set the tone for what is predicted to be the biggest Arthur’s Day celebration to date.

GUINNESS lovers from 55 countries around the globe will join together to honour the life and legacy of Arthur Guinness, and raise a toast to the founder of the world-famous Irish stout; celebrating all those who, like Arthur, embody the ethos of the GUINNESS brand: MADE OF MORE™.

From the Caribbean to Cork and Spain to Singapore, more than 30 artists will be performing, offering crowds of GUINNESS fans a remarkable experience and a night to remember.

As a brand infused with a longstanding tradition of philanthropy, through Arthur’s Day™ Guinness has already committed nearly €8m to the Arthur Guinness Fund™. Providing mentoring and funding to carefully selected social entrepreneurs from around the globe, the Arthur Guinness Fund™ is designed to support those who are in the business of changing communities for the better. In several countries donations will be made on behalf of every person who “checks-in” at an Arthur’s Day™ event via Facebook and a proportion of ticket proceeds will also be contributed to the fund in a number of locations.

Tinie Tempah who will be playing at the Irish Arthur’s Day™ events commented: “I played Arthur's Day back in 2010 so I know all about the magic of it. I'm honoured to be invited back to Ireland for 2012 and couldn't be more excited about playing a pub gig for a small, surprised crowd! We'll be kick starting the global celebrations in Ireland on September 27th - hope to see you all there!”

In the home of GUINNESS, major events will be happening in Ireland where over 500 live performances will take place in every one of the country’s 32 counties. GUINNESS fans will also for the first time have the chance to lobby for their local pub to win a remarkable performance from an artist, which will be announced only on the evening itself.

For the first time ever, on September 27, Great Britain joins the Arthur’s Day global festivities with an extraordinary music celebration. While festivities in Jamaica return with a performance from a renowned reggae artist which will be live-streamed out to all the Caribbean islands.

In Asia, fans will be enjoying a marathon of live music from performers including number one artist and Golden Melody Award winner Shin, and lead guitarist from rock band Beyond, Paul Wong.

A series of major European artists will be performing for fans in Spain, Germany and Italy offering a night of music and celebrations, with Leiva, formerly a member of one of Spain’s biggest rock bands Pereza, returning to the Arthur’s Day stage this year, leading the Spanish festivities and performing a live collaboration with an international artist.

Down under, Australia will be releasing a reworked classic Irish track in partnership with a well-known artist soon to be announced.  Voted for by fans, the winning track will be made available to purchase.

Keeping their cards close to their chest, Arthur’s Day organisers have revealed that even more remarkable artists will be announced over the coming weeks, taking anticipation for the day to fever pitch. Fans are reminded to keep their eyes peeled for further talent and celebration announcements to be revealed on the local Facebook pages.

GUINNESS should be enjoyed on Arthur’s Day, and any other occasion, responsibly.
