PRETTY THINGS BEER & ALE PROJECT SHOWS BEER LABEL ARTWORK FOR FIRST TIME AT VEEVEE, JAMAICA PLAIN
Experience the magic of Pretty Things alongside innovative food and drink
APRIL 7TH 2010, VEE VEE, 763 CENTRE ST, JAMAICA PLAIN
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project and VeeVee announce an art exhibition of preliminary sketches, posters and original ideas for the Pretty Things beer line up, running from April 7th - May 10th on the walls of the restaurant at 763 Centre St, JP. Original sketches for Jack DʼOr, Confounded Mr. Sisyphus, Babayaga, Baby Tree, St Botolphʼs Town, American Darling, and Fluffy White Rabbits will be displayed, alongside the finished beer labels. A rotating draft selection of Pretty Things beers will accompany the show, with original posters for sale.
This is a novel undertaking for a local craft brewery and celebrates the mad creativity and "gypsy brewing" spirit of Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project. It allows patrons of VeeVee to enjoy amazing food alongside unusual creativity.
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project was co-founded by brewer Dann Paquette and his wife Martha Holley- Paquette in August 2008, with the first beers released in December 2008. Seven beers have so far been released, ranging from the flagship Jack DʼOr (an American take on Belgian Saison beers) to the Yorkshire-inspired brown ale named for Boston: St. Botolphʼs Town. Their most recent release is Fluffy White Rabbits, a Springtime beer brewed in the style of Belgian Triples. Dann and Martha do not own a brewery: Dann is a longtime Boston brewing native and thus lacked the funds to go-it-alone in the brewing business, before he struck on the idea of renting other breweriesʼ excess capacity in a "gypsy- brewer" business model. Dann and Marthaʼs artwork is in keeping with their business concept and their beers: fun, free and uniquely creative.
VeeVee was founded in January 2008 by husband and wife Dan Valachovic and Kristen Valachovic (the two "Veeʼs"). The restaurant serves seasonal American cuisine with a focus on seafood and vegetarian dishes. Additionally, they offer a carefully chosen selection of craft beers from local shores and overseas, and wines from smaller producers highlighting lesser-known varietals.
The show runs from April 7th to May 10th at VeeVee
