(LOS ANGELES, August 15) -- The ever-growing horde of Los Angeles craft beer fans can again rejoice as LA Beer Week makes its triumphant return on October 10. Cramming so much win into seven days proved impossible, so the event organizers decided to slightly alter the definition of the word “week,” opting to extend the festivities through October 23, spreading the gospel for a whopping 14 days.

It’s the 200th anniversary of the German Tradition of Oktoberfest. That’s right, in 1810, some beer loving German royalty decided to get hitched and that’s how we ended up with the rich, amber, copper seasonals that are Oktoberfest style beers. It’s like a really long, international game of telephone that started with a traditional German marriage and horse race and ended up being a bunch of people gathering around to drink beer, roast sausages and wear the most hideous outfits you can think of.
Beer and football. It goes together like peanut butter and jelly…like rosemary and thyme… like flies on shit or like rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong. Ya’ know, like the Superbowl and the Detroit Lions – just kidding on that last one.
