KANSAS CITY, MO (January 2010) Boulevard Brewing Company, the Midwest's largest craft brewer, today announced the unveiling of a new, limited release collaboration beer. Only 11,000 750ml bottles of Collaboration No. 1, an Imperial Pilsner, will make it to store shelves throughout the brewery's entire distribution area. The beer is the first in Boulevard's Smokestack Collaboration Series, a collection that combines the experience and expertise of celebrated brewers to produce a single unique batch of beer.

Monster maker goes after brewer

MORRISVILLE, Vt. -- Forget David and Goliath. This fight's between Matt and Monster.

The maker of Monster energy drinks has taken aim at a Vermont brewery that sells a beer called "The Vermonster," ordering it to stop selling, advertising and promoting the craft brew because it could confuse consumers.

Craft Beer Weekend at the Ace Hotel

If you’re up for two full days of craft beer, culinary delights and live music with just the right balance of nostalgia and vogue, then Ace Hotel’s annual Craft Beer Weekend is for you. The youthful hotel on the eastern leg of Palm Canyon Drive was the perfect spot for the hipster chic celebration of craft beer.

Most beer festivals that are hosted at fairgrounds, parking lots or large venues may have capacity for large quantities of beer. But the hotel’s Friday evening’s menu and Saturday BBQ and beer tastings were a slightly smaller celebration, by the pool, Palm Springs style. The sun, the view, the water and the California style beers are, in fact, their ace in the hole.

Revered as one of the best beer festivals ever and sold out months prior to the festivities, Firestone Invitational Beer Fest was born from a dream of creating a world class festival featuring not only the best brewers in the world, but brewers whom they feel are leading the craft.

Decades ago, Don Callender started a Southern California chain of American style restaurants that was known for its pies, fully stocked saloon and salad bar. As the years passed and the restaurant chain was sold and merged with other restaurants, Don had a slightly different vision of BBQ and beer.
